Birthday Celebrations

A fabulous firework display this evening to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the opening of Isambard Kingdom Brunel's famous Clifton Suspension Bridge.

Despite taking half an hour to find a parking space nearly a mile away, not quite making it to the best spot - crowds of people there plus the media were well placed as you'd expect, having to wait for well over an hour and taking an hour an half to get home, which is normally about 15 minutes, it was thoroughly worth it.

There was a touching moment too when a minute silence was held to acknowledge the tragic death of Bristol mother Charlotte Bevan and her newly born baby girl earlier this week.
