Sandman

Went to the Yule event at the Duncarron Medieval Village today.

They had a Council of Legendary Creatures, lots of elves, a storyteller, some trolls, some yetis, some hot broth; and a couple of stalls, where I bought a very nice dragon pendant.
It was good fun but unfortunately, the weather was against them... dour and dreich and not much of an audience, so the whole thing was not as good as the last time I went there... a bit lacklustre. Could have done with some hot fruit punch, and more fire.
Not their fault, and I'd still warmly recommend those events for anyone within reach, and have every intention of going back myself. I think their next one might be a new year thing.

The legendary creatures included the Sandman, who, as you can see, kept falling asleep in a very realistic way. He also managed to creep up on me twice to put sand on my shoulder! Father Christmas and Old Father time were very impressive; and the Easter Bunny... well, let's just say he was more Donny Darko than Harvey. A touch disturbing, but the children loved him.
