Go to work on an egg
I'm about to go to work on these eggs. You can't beat them for breakfast. (Well, you can beat them for breakfast if you want an omelette, but you know what I mean.) I don't often have a cooked breakfast but these and a couple of slices of toast to go with it are great on a Sunday morning. With home made marmalade. Yum.
Tonight we're having Steak and Kidney pudding, made to my mother's old recipe. I don't really have a sweet tooth, so on my 21st birthday my mother made one of these for me instead of a cake and decorated it with candles! She had quite a sense of humour which I think I inherited. There was a time I came in from school just before Christmas and she had collected the turkey that day, in the days when they still came complete with head and legs attached rather than wrapped in plastic. She'd carefully arranged it with the neck and head hanging over the side of the table and a cigarette in its beak.
Now that's the sort of thing I'd do. If I smoked.
