Victorian Fayre Keswick

Despite the cold temperatures and hailstones, Keswick's annual Victorian Fayre was a huge success today. All the local charities turned out with their own stalls manned by local volunteers. Some were quite inventive, like the human slot machine, where three volunteers brought out various types of fruit from an enclosed box. Three matching fruits won you a prize! Everything from mince pies and mulled wine, to tombolas and turkeys were on offer. The day was compared by ex mayor Andrew Lysser and local choir group, "Committed to Rock", sang throughout the day. With lots of people joining in by dressing in Victorian costumes, it was definitely a day not to be missed.
