Eternal Flame
We finished our Sunday drive out today in Kings Park, this is the Eternal Flame in front of the war memorial. (Great blip for today's challenge topic, Fire or Flame) ..
we had been to Rolystone a small historic town in the outer suburbs of Perth.
Roleystone's name originates from a property purchased by Thomas Buckingham in 1858, where he had built a sawmill in 1866.
The town was also referred to as "The Rolling Stone" and "Rowley Stone" in early police reports.
The area was subdivided into farmlets in 1902, and was subsequently developed as orchards and market gardens.
In 1905, Roleystone was opened up for closer settlement, because of its beautiful scenery and fertile valley soils. It has fruit orchards and native bushland.
Also the water boards Canning Dam is situated here, with walkways and picnic grounds and access across the Dam wall, we spent a lovely warm afternoon here..
