Light Moments

Pig & Whistle

It rained all last night in Rye and was still raining at 10am this morning just like an old fashioned Melbourne winter's day.

We went to the Pig & Whistle for lunch in Main Ridge. If you haven't been there, its an English style pub in the hills around Red Hill. The pub has plenty of atmosphere with flying ducks, old pistols, old golf memorabilia, and plenty of signage on the walls. And today the fire was alight, adding realism to the Christmas decorations.

The steak and guinness pie for $20 is recommended washed down by a pint of guinness. They make their own wines too under the Bayview label.

This picture isn't particularly good but I hope it captures the ambience.

After a meal at the Pig & Whistle, an afternoon nap is recommended.
