Off to the pub!

This morning I went to my brother's house and after some family business went into the village to see the Christmas tree festival in the village church. Local organisations had decorated trees and a brass band was playing carols.

When we were on the way back along the lane, this pair of miniature traction engines came chugging towards us. I stopped the car to take a photo and my brother knew the owner. They were off to the pub for a lunchtime drink - once the steam had subsided a bit!

We then went to Venus Pool Nature Reserve as we weren't too far away and watched a group of four snipe right in front of the hide. A bit too dull for a good photo but great to see them.
