Leighton House Museum

This is truly one of London's hidden gems: the home and studio of Frederic, Lord Leighton (1830-1896), a leading exponent of 19th century classical art. It was designed around his collections of fine and decorative art, the centrepiece being the Arab and Narcissus halls, decorated with Islamic tiles, mosaic floors and sculpted pillars and friezes inspired by his Middle Eastern travels.

After looking around we walked in nearby Holland Park, visiting the Kyoto Garden, and had a posh lunch in The Belvedere. What a lovely day!
