Laurie

Today I met Laurie and we had a really nice chat. I asked about her sign and Laurie immediately got teary. "I was a meth addict for 24 years," she said. "Things were so bad I prayed that God would take my life...and he did. I was put in jail soon after that prayer."

Laurie told me that God took her life and basically gave her a new one. She shared that standing on street corners was something she used to do as part of her former life, but for very different reasons. "God turned me around and now I stand on the corner with this sign instead. God uses me to share hope with others. I feel compelled to share my story and this message," she said. "God eases my pain."

Laurie's story - her struggles, really moved me. She's been through a lot and truly wants to help others. I appreciated how open and honest she was in talking with me. Thank you, Laurie, for sharing your story and your positive outlook. I wish you the best.
