Double Crested Cormorant

This fish eating bird swam all over Jewel Lake in Berkeley, California's Tilden Regional Park today. It dove under the water frequently to catch fish and reappeared on the far side of the lake. After it ate a few fish it sat on a rock and spread its wings to dry them, sitting as still as if it were in a yoga position.

This was a great day for birding... other birds on the lake included mallards, pied billed grebes, wideons, buffleheads, ruddy ducks and more. You definetly luck out some day!
