Omar's Place

This is the minaret of the Omar Bin Al Khattab mosque and I think that's Emirates flight EK 718 to the right.

The mosque is next to the Mard Fort, both a gazillion years old in the town of Dumat Al Jandal, a 40 minute drive from Sakaka.

I had a wander around the mostly ruins of the fortress, enjoying the sunny change from the usual office.

They tell me this is about as good as it gets tourist wise for the region around Sakaka. I fear I may have peaked too early and have seen all there is to see. I'm sure I'll find something else.
