Omani sinkhole

Ellen, as guest blip selector, chose this one looking down into a sinkhole just down the coast from Muscat.

There two explanations for its existence. The first was as a consequence of a meteor ending its journey which started in the depths of the universe and which ended in the Arabian desert.

The other is that it is a natural phenomenon caused by water erosion.

The second explanation is supported by scientific evidence. Pity.
