Looking for Noah

The rain just keeps coming down. It is amazing; I have not seen this much rain in years. The last time, our basement flooded and the Mrs was supposed to go into the hospital to give birth the next day! It was an upsetting time and we got past it; fortunately, the basement has weathered this storm okay.

The crazy thing is that it just keeps raining. This is not the light and misty stuff that is pleasant, but a complete downpour. It started on Saturday and has continued through today. I keep waiting for Noah to show up with his Ark!

The forecast suggests that it will keep raining at least through today and possibly tomorrow. I am sure that basements are flooding everywhere and we have an acquaintance who has 6 inches of water in their basement.

We live next to swampy conservation land. Next to our house is a cistern that overflows into the conservation land via a small stream. Calling the flow a stream is typically a vast overstatement and there is very little water there. Today is different; water is flowing rapidly like a river and you can see it in this blip.

I purposefull chose a long shutter speed to highlight the movement of the water and shot this handheld. It turned out better than expected thanks to a new handholding technique I have been trying out. Here is a YouTube video discussing it. Note that I am a right eye shooter and have adopted this to my needs.
