Shame

The level of police brutality that is coming into the news from so many cities in the United States is beyond shameful. And the fact that somehow the court and trial system is not prosecuting the responsible individuals for racial behaviors and murder is beyond comprehension.

This is a low point in America - and combined with other negative forces in governance - well all I can say is thank heavens for the delightful small joys, families and friends, and traditions that are about giving and caring as otherwise - it feels bleak.

I felt I wanted to acknowledge this as so many in the blip world are outside the US - you must wonder. And the image - I ran the utube video and shot some stills and then tried to crop so you could both see how gruesome it is and yet not be completely inappropriate on blip. It is nothing but offensive, the video, because of what happened in NYC last summer. BUT thank heavens some citizen had the presence of mind to run his phone and prove the truth of what really occurred and does all too often. The statistics of murder by police of black American men are staggering.

If you want to see for yourself put in a search on "Eric Garner video" - I cannot do a link. Too graphic. Truly.

AND read the first comment by R. Jefe as he is absolutely right. That is the bright side, and the fact that the Administration has already stepped in and taken action in Cleveland where a week ago a 12 year old boy, or about that, was shot by a police officer and killed. But we do have freedom to express, in all kinds of ways. I just was so disturbed I forgot to add that part.
