A Tough Blip
An ugly blip, I know, but a truthful one. I found this skull, probably of a fawn, today on the hill here in southern Oregon. Who knows the cause of its demise - animals, disease, injury. So many survive in this adaptable climate and environment, but the truth is, Nature is such a necessarily cold, cruel home. As I was walking the hill, I saw a doe and two of this year's fawns slipping silently away from me across the wet, red earth. Their own survival, a complete miracle. I guess that could be said for all of us.
Sorry for the morbid blip, just a necessary one I guess.
