Liked the red tinged petal edges about to open

Got concerned about the Grebe family as a contractor was cutting grass right to the edge of the lake, and this is where the ducks and grebes nest. Removing all the long grass and reeds would leave them very exposed. I just had to protect them especially the dozen tiny ducklings, so I spoke to the young man Adam. He thought he was doing them a favour as they liked to eat the fresh cut grass. Suggested he leave at least 2 metres uncut, and explained how they were hoping to fence is area off as the wild life protected area.
Usual answer I am just doing what i was told. So I phoned the contracting company who I hope would check with the local authority who initiated it all. At least they listened and understood.
