A Day at the Office

Here is my entry for SarumStroller's Derelict Thursday Challenge.


This afternoon Texann had an appointment and I knew it was near an old derelict office building I had passed before so got her to stop off there on the way. I had not realized how truly derelict it was. Back in 2009 it was being advertised as office space to let. However in May 2013 someone torched one of the wings. We managed to find this out because on the gate there was a sign asking for information on an arson. There was so much dereliction that it was hard to know what to blip. Glass was everywhere. The whole place was covered in graffiti and a lot of very disturbing phrases. The section that was burned was just left to the open air and totally destroyed. What amazed me was it was totally open with no locked gates or barriers.

In the end I went for this layered image of some of the graffiti in the vandalized wing. The broken glass is still lying on the window sill. However I had to include this image of the burnt out section.
