Marin joulukalenteri, 4th door
We Finns count down the 24 days before Christmas by using Advent Calendars.
I haven't got one for myself this year, so I decided open my own Advent Calendar here in Blip.
So today I open another door of Marin Joulukalenteri:
December is the darkest month of the year. Sun light is sweet and oh, so short when it is rarely seen. Thats why most of Finnish christmas songs mention light, stars in dark sky or candle light. Now days we all put artificial lights in garden, balcony or windowsill to bring more light to our world.
This song Kun joulu on is telling how the eye of Sun is out, but also about nature in winter , children's joy of Christmas while waiting , beauty of the homes in christmastime and the Christmas message. Many of our christmas songs are melancholy or longing.
