Degustation..

The dictionary definition of Degustation is 'a culinary term meaning a careful, appreciative tasting of various foods and focusing on the gustatory system, the senses, high culinary art and good company. Dégustation is more likely to involve sampling small portions of all of a chef's signature dishes in one sitting'.

I think this Degu in his station is thoroughly appreciating the taste of his food.. (more delicious Large!)
I was very tempted to buy a group of these delightful little rodents today. They are not cheap though which is good .. it meant I came home empty handed apart from this photo! I used to have hamsters when I was young then more when the girls were young (which I ended up looking after more than they did! as is the way!) and I rather miss having some small critters around. However with a small white terrier in the house I don't think life would be too easy keeping them apart. Degu are diurnal so are awake in the daytime and full of antics unlike sleepy hamsters who just want to crawl back to bed if you disturb them in the daytime. Tempted!! However, I don't need any more ties at this point.. I just want to be as free as a bird!!
