Black billed gull preening

We've been down to Timaru today, and stopped off in the Botanic Gardens for lunch. There are always a few birds around the lake, and gulls in particular, hanging around the picnic tables. Not many red-billed, but quite a few of the much quieter, black-billed. Many of the gulls were juveniles, but with mostly adult plumage, a lighter grey in the black-billed gulls.
