We should not be here

My journal today should be full of enthusiasm for the papers and exhibits at the Digital Economy All Hands conference in London.

Instead I made a return trip from London to Bolton to meet my best friend from university and her husband. I was there to support them through the heartbreaking task of identifying the bodies of their two young sons who died 100 miles away from home at the weekend.
