Aquamarine/Nanna K's Day

By NannaK

Walk in the woods....

The day got away from me today. Had a good walk in a different place on the west side of the island. This is a bridge that this neighbor has erected to get a small atv vehicle down to his beautiful property on the water. It used to be just logs down into the ravine. I had to sit on my bottom to get down. This is better.

On the way back I saw what I thot was our illusive osprey in a snag in the sun, took many pix, front and back (he kept turning around but didn’t leave) and was hoping to blip him but didn’t have the bigger lens so the photos just aren’t good enough. Will keep looking. (and now I'm not sure what it was...need Musings...)

Made little progress on my projects, but progress. Made soup. Also a sauna.

Finally finished all 830 pages of The Luminaries, the 2013 Man Booker prize winner by Eleanor Catton. I’m glad I read it -all about the gold rush in New Zealand in the mid 19th C. but I have to admit that I got lost with so many characters and descriptions, and also the astrology references alluded me for the most part. She must be brilliant to weave it all together. But it’s so long. Now I need to read something entirely different — into a Jo Nesbo (Cockroaches) “maddeningly addictive” mystery.
