As part of my whizzy trip to see mum and my sisters I took Ma and her friend, Annick, to Basildon Park yesterday. Coo ... it was chilly. The staff were great, the nosh was tasty and the volunteers driving the shuttle buggy were so interesting. I'd recommend the house to everyone ... that is ... what I saw of it on the video as I was keeping Ma company whilst Annick whizzed around the grand rooms up the stairs that mum couldn't manage. I'll be trying to get back there over the Christmas break with Phillip and Katy. So ... the local brew has survived 24 hours at our house. Not putting a bet on whether it will last till Christmas, though.
