Oh Christmas Tree

This particular tree was on a grand scale, a suitable tree for the sumptuousness of the surroundings. It arrived in the Great Hall of the castle and was the highlight of my first day back at work. The sun was shining quite intensely through the large windows creating the dappled shadow on the wood panelling in the background and the glare of light on some of the tree branches. I like the ornaments glinting in the sunlight against the rich and varied objects behind. I think a Christmas tree like this one can appeal to that child inside all of us, an object of warmth and wonder on those long cold winter nights.
