James 'Dixie' Dean

He taught me my times tables;
He smelt of musk;
He let me change the gear's in the car;
He was Thornton's finest Avon Rep;
He could never stand still;
He's the only man I know who had the TV and radio on at the same time, one with football, one with racing, and could tell you what was happening in each;
He always called me hen, before correcting to son;
He wouldn't answer the phone during Emmerdale, Coronation Street or Eastenders, if you dared call;
He knew everyone;
