Out for a walk
Little late afternoon walk around Moor Pool, the strangely quiet and submerged 'garden suburb' style area nearby. It's very similar to Hampstead Garden Suburb near where I used to live in London; houses all built in the same style with the same windows, no shops, no pubs, and quaint little signs "4000 bulbs planted in the Moor Pool community garden initiative', etc.
There are lots of little alleys and cul-de-sacs in Harborne, and an odd mishmash of houses; Nash style rubs elbows with 1930s timber faced affairs; run down terraces nestle up to a library converted into flats; an old fire station faces a row of turn of the century terraces, and down the side of a new development is a strange architects' fantasy of glass and metal sitting all on its own.
Alleyways never change though - smelling slightly of dogsh*t, made of buckling tarmac and weeds and graffitied fences.
