NOT a lighthouse blip!

It was lovely and sunny today so Ann said, ‘Molly, shall we go for a walk along the coast path and blip you beside Tater Du lighthouse? And then that will be our Cornish lifeboat stations & lighthouses project finished.’

The plan was to park in the car park at ‘Lamorna Cove’, walk to the lighthouse and then walk back. However when we got to the car park it was practically empty and we spotted the ‘horrid man’?!! The horrid man just sits in his car waiting for people to go one second over their parking time and then he issues them with a big fat fine.

Sometimes Ann just does things on principle. A lot of the more remote car parks in Cornwall are free at this time of year. If horrid man hadn’t been there, she would happily have paid the £2.80 for two hours parking even though she thought that was excessive for a car park that is hardly used in the winter. But she wasn’t going to give horrid man the satisfaction of watching our car until we came back from our walk.

………….So, she said, ‘Molly, we’ll park at Merry Maidens and walk down the lane to Rosemodress Farm and then down to the coast path’. Best laid plans & all that. When we got to Rosemodress Farm there was a sign that said, ‘No public right of way to coast path.’

…………..So then we trekked across a field (where the footpath sign was pointing). It might have been a field in a previous life, but today it was about half a mile of cow poo??!! You really don’t want to know how stinky we both got!!!!!

Ended up at another farm where there was another sign that said, ‘No public right of way to coast path’. Sometime OS maps don’t give one enough information!!!

At this point Ann said, ‘Molly, let’s forget blipping a lighthouse today.’

So off we went to Lands End cos we have a free locals pass for parking and had a short stroll about in the sunshine.

And then I had a lovely run about up Chapel Carn Brae. I was off my lead for the whole time and I was so well behaved that I even ignored the gorgeous little wild ponies that were there.

And now we’re home and it’s taken Ann half an hour to clean all the cow poo off her walking boots. Don’t even ask how long it’s taken to clean me!!!

PS – We will definitely BLIP Tater Du Lighthouse before the end of the year. Might just have to put up with parking when horrid man is in the car park, because from what we’ve heard he’s there every day??? Obviously doesn’t have a life!!!
