Box
It's a tricky situation with box at the moment; box blight still threatens our beloved topiary shapes. I removed a hedge and a diamond shape from my herb garden a couple of years ago suspecting blight and nervous about it spreading. This one has been grown entirely from cuttings over a period of about 20 years. The cuttings are easy to grow - you just need patience and a bit of space. I have some sheep shearers for trimming which happens about twice a year. In spring I love to see the new growth and enjoy it whilst waiting for Derby Day, the recommended date for the first cut.
We had a heavy ground frost in the night - you can still see it on the grass.
