"THE WORLD RECORD GLASGOW TOWER"
The Glasgow Tower is the only structure on earth capable of rotating 360 degrees into the prevailing wind and holds the Guinness-World-Record for the tallest fully rotating freestanding structure in the World. At 127 metres high, the equivalent of over 30 double-decker buses, it is is the tallest freestanding building in Scotland and has not been without a few teething problems being re-opened in July of this year.
It is part of the Glasgow Science Centre complex and visible in the background is the
The Clyde Auditorium, familiarly known as "The Armadillo" which is a concert venue, with the Crowne Plaza Hotel nestling in between.
The two red white and black funnels just to the left of the tower belong to the Waverley, the world's last remaining sea going paddle steamer and happily based on the River Clyde.
