Forget Black Friday, It's Blackbird Tuesday

Bit of a frustrating day photographically. Sunny at lunchtime but I was stuck in a meeting. Beautiful sunset but I was stuck in a meeting, staring longingly at it out of the window. Fabulous moon at dusk but by the time I got home the clouds had rolled over and made it too fuzzy to bother with.

Here I was just practicing with the new lens (Tamron 70-300mm f/4-5.6) and this blackbird didn't get out of the way fast enough. This lens is very easy to use, nice and sharp from 70-200mm, a bit fuzzy above that, but the light was poor when I took this. It's big, quite heavy and best summed up by one of the reviews on Amazon:

This lens is going to get you noticed. A twitcher even spoke to me, but I think he was only trying to intimidate me about the size of his equipment.
