What do you think of our hats?

Another day at Kelvingrove and another tour. This is the small garniture of Sir William Herbert, First Earl of Pembroke. He was 'a mad young fighting fellow' chosen to lead the English at the Battle of St.Quentin in 1557. A garniture is a collection of armour for different fighting situations. This is the only one for man and horse left which was made at Henry VIII's royal armoury at Greenwich.
