Number-Ten

This is a pentagonal trapezohedron die, It has ten congruent kite shaped faces. I made this one this afternoon and I’ve placed it on top of the net of the shape.

It's not possible to score a ten by throwing a ten sided die. Why not? The clue is in the picture.
