Brush Turkey
Today we had a delightful seafood lunch with my sister and husband in an outdoor café at Brooklyn on the Hawkesbury River; they came down from Lake Macquarie and we meet them half way.
Our trip didn't started out all that relaxing as when we arrived at our local railway station we heard an announcement that our train was running fifteen minutes late (we heard from our son-in-law police officer that drug sniffer dogs were checking our train further up the line) meaning we would miss our Newcastle connection. We raced home, jumped in the car, headed across to Lewisham and literally ran two blocks to that station. This train pulled in as we sprinted up the steps. We then had a more leisurely trip to Strathfield to connect with our original Newcastle train.
Whilst enjoying an iced coffee we noticed an Australian Brush Turkey wander down the street. After a couple of attempts I managed to capture this image. Because the weather was hot the turkey decided to stick to the shade - wise bird!
