Merlin is trialling Green lipped oyster pills.
These have high levels of glucosamine and seem to be absorbed particularly well, he now has a go at running, sometimes, and tried to leap up the stairs this morning. That was not a good idea. However, coming upstairs in the morning to get me out of bed has been part of his routine ever since he was a little puppy, and it is obviously something he would be loathe to give up.
So no matter what the cost, he shall have whatever miracles veterinary medicine can provide.
