Poultry time

Here we have a Frenchman wearing a black beret selling a rather fine cockerel at the monthly market in Saintes. We didn't buy it, but bought three new white Sussex point of lay hens. We were only going to buy one, but there were three left asking to be rescued from their cage, so we got all three.
There have been a few fights this afternoon, as one of them seems quite feisty, but hopefully they will all settle down soon.
