Talking balls

I was talking to a guy at the beach the other day who said "if I had a pound for every ball that dog's lost, I'd be a very rich man."

Thinking of the number of balls Stella had failed to fetch, I had to agree.

Later though, it occurred to me that it would be more accurate to say "if I had a pound for every ball that dog's lost, I'd have roughly twice the amount I've spent on balls in the first place."
