It was a slow, easy morning in Shropshire following last night's cousins' do. I had a few tasks to do such as removing a single twig from Christine's hedge that had been left sticking up when it had been last trimmed. It was annoying Christine, in her line of sight but she couldn't reach it! Next was changing a large cylinder in her gas fire.

Next was a trip to Wellington Station to take Pauline to meet this train for her journey back to York. The train was crowded, I wondered where they were all going on a Sunday?

We went to Wetherspoons for lunch, we all had Christmas dinner, the two ladies having the children's dinner so the bill only came to £15. Then it was in the car for the long trip back to Kent via the Dartford Crossing and our first experience of the new Dart Charge system. It seemed to work OK.

In the evening, after unpacking we went walking for the last time this month and came across an act of repeated vandalism which must have only just happened. Once again the low level street lights along Church Landway had had their tops knocked off and strewn across the footpath. This must have been the third or fourth time this has happened. It makes you so angry and disheartened as there seems little that can be done to either prevent or catch the person or people responsible. I called the police when we arrived back home and within the hour the police had at least contacted the parish council.
