Teenage Fan Club

Rampant running between two meetings in town and on campus whilst all the while panicking about catching the late afternoon train down to Glasgow for my date with Mr McCulloch. Luckily Kim was accompanying me, but she need not have worried about me launching myself on my one time teen crush, mainly because if he ever was to (and he never does) step out from the shadows and take of his shades he would scare Batman. Aye, the years have taken their toll on the drawling Liverpudlian while the music is well preserved.

Kim had brought some bubblypop cans for the journey, although being middle aged ladies we did have to google whether we were allowed to drink on a train these days. From the train we dumped our bags at the Marks Hotel then headed down the street to the Howlin' Wolf pub. On to the venue and some spirit doubles for old times sake. The band played and the crowd swayed, especially to the old ones. There was a fight in the crowd, just to make the old atmosphere authentic, then two encores, finishing with Ocean Rain. Then we headed off into the night, to ice the cake of our squiffiness, all for posterity and to make best use of being let loose for the first time in ages. We enjoyed being glib in Glasgow, thanks to a terminology rammy with some inebriated students and then stumbled back to snoozeland.
