Memories in a packet
Colour or black and white
Too many to keep
Most of them can go
Why did I take so many?

Landscapes, buildings,
Things that took my fancy,
Bright flowers and butterflies
Close-up of -- what’s that?
I thought I was so good!

Where was that taken?
You must remember this
Don’t we look so young?
Oh we can’t keep that
I look such a frump.

So many of the children
We’ll just keep the best.
Family occasions
Unnamed and undated.
I must remedy that.

Well that’s the first lot sorted
How many more to go?
A drawer full in the side board
And that box up on the shelf.
So many memories in those packets!
