I'm watching you

Today's news on the web is full of stories about last night's banging noises heard across the country. We noticed them here in North Kent while the 10 o'clock news was on, but just assumed it was someone nearby having fireworks a bit later in November than usual. What on earth was it? That seems to be a bit of a mystery.

Did some baking this afternoon, so it's a wintry supper of beef with dumplings and apple crumble tonight. Not exactly slimming, but comfort food is what we crave as the calendar nudges on the cusp of December.

Alfie cat clearly disapproves of the weather getting colder, and so spent today hanging about in the warm. That didn't stop him giving a hunter's beady eye , though, to birds outside the kitchen window on the bird station.
