Raackwick Road

The top of the Brae of the Hut, leading from Rackwick to Hoy. The background fold is the Trowie Glen - so therefore not safe at night. All of the vivid summery colour has been bleached out of the grass, heather, rashes and bracken. Got the boat home earlier to help my Mum celebrate her birthday. We took her into Kirkwall for a meal. Somehow she managed to squeeze in a bit of light shopping at Shearers’ before we sojourned to Creel HQ.

When we arrived home CMC informed me she has ‘bought a Radley Bag’. Is this a coded message ? Scintillating dancing last night and we are going dancing tonight to try the ‘Butter Churn’.
