Amazing!

On today's lunchtime walk we turned a corner and found this Sparrowhawk having its lunch too. This is made even more amazing by the fact that this is in central Birmingham not more than a minute's walk from the Council House and New Street Station so not a quiet spot by any stretch of the imagination.

The Sparrowhawk just carried on regardless, occasionally looking up at us to check we weren't going to steal its prey. It looked us straight in the eye too, which was remarkable. I only had a 50mm equivalent lens so you get an idea of how close we were.

What a treat!
