You're Fired
I have to quickly have a moan about (the normally very good) service from Asda last night.
Our delivery slot came and went without any sign of the van. Mrs SJR phoned Asda, held in a queue for about 20 minutes to be told van was on its way and would be with us soon. A very hungry length of time went past nibbling on peanuts to ward of the hunger pangs. Our dinner was in the van. It was getting a bit ridiculously late and I had a go on the phone next. Another 20 minutes in the call queue then I got through to a lady in the overseas call centre. I explained we had been assured earlier by one of her colleagues delivery was on its way and would be with us soon. She said she would get someone from store to phone us. Another 20 minutes and phone call from store came. Apparently van driver couldn’t find us so just set off for home with our food on board. The driver is furnished with two numbers for us but didn’t call either for direction.
In the past when a new driver was trying to find our entrance at night –they have phoned from the village centre- I have always hastily pulled on my boots and jacket and stood at the road end waiting and when I saw the van waved a torch to direct them. No problem.
Asda have no delivery to Roy Bridge today so we have had to cancel that batch of shopping and waste a valuable chunk of Saturday in Fort William.
It’s a good job Alan Sugar doesn’t run Asda. He would be exhausted pointing that aggressive finger the way he does.
Caley got a couple of walks. This was the last one in near darkness on the north side of Glen Spean opposite Fersit road end.
