Camellia Japonica Noblissima
Flowering a little earlier than normal but escaping the frost which usually gives every petal a brownish edge.
It reminded me of the book by Margery Fish "A Flower for Every Day". I read it years and years ago - probably one of the first gardening books I ever read - and I was captivated by the idea that you could find a plant in flower in your garden every single day of the year. Still trying!
