Security Summit in Leith

Not on the boats but on shore in MalMaison :-)
I do like looking at boats though.
The network security conference was actually pretty interesting with some good speakers from Cisco and Hutchinson.
I really liked the demo showing how easy it is to be fooled into opening up your PC to the world just by clicking on a url in an email.
That url takes you to a cloned site which then tunnels back to your machine allowing the not very nice people full access to all of your data.
OK, we all know this happens but to see all of the components working for real in a proper demo brings it all home.

Office Christmas party night too.
Free drinks and food at Le Monde in town.
It was a good night and I'm pretty pleased with myself for making it home at a reasonable time in a reasonable state :-)
