Lyttelton Timeball Station
Situated at the port of Lyttelton, Canterbury, NZ and is one of five in the world to still be in working order.
From 1876 to 1934 a ball was dropped from its mast on its stone tower signalling the time to ships in Lyttelton Harbour.
This castle-like building housed those who lived and worked there.
We went here today as my daughter has a photography assignment coming up and is needing to have access to a tower, inside and outside. If anyone in the Canterbury region has any other ideas apart from the Arts Centre in Christchurch I would like to hear from you. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated :)
I wanted to show the whole building as its like a little castle, quite quaint and yes you can get on the roof.
