On your marks...
After a very late night last night, I had a busy day ahead of me today.
In the morning, I attended a leadership workshop, which was followed by networking lunch at a brand new go-karting centre, The Experience. it's run as a social enterprise by the Kibble Charity, giving job opportunities for young people who have barriers to employment. Today was its opening day, and the young people were amazing, highly professional. The catering was of a much higher standard than you would expect in a go-carting centre too, so it's sure to be a great success.
I was very wary of the go carting, having only done it once before, and being a bit of a fearty. I only had a go to be polite to my host. I was very hesitant in the first race, keeping to the side to let people pass and slowing right down on the corners and accelerating and braking very carefully. However my confidence increased and jumped at the chance of a second go. This time I managed full throttle coming out of the corners and my best lap time improved from 46.624secs to 38.817
