Amazing Construction

Found this gum tree blossom all closed up on the ground this morning on our walk. By the time I got home the lid had come off and revealed the wonderful way it's all packed inside the case!

In a few days if this was still on the tree the case would have expanded quite a bit and opened right out and would look just like this!
