Nostalgia

A small shop with the annual decoration for the time of the year as Sinterklaas and his Black Pieters arrived in the Netherlands mid November and will stay till December 5th when his boxing eve is celebrated at the homes of many.
For me this is a nostalgic shopwindow and no more, for its owner it is too but nowadays he's both boo-ed at and supported by for his daring to decorate his window like he did a lifetime ~ Black Pieter is under attack as some claim we express dutch racism by accepting him in our national culture as the helper of Sinterklaas ~ like all children I'd never spurred that symbolism and todays children don't realise this either till they're told
