Pork pie hats.

Sausage fest in Edinburgh's Christmas market in Princes Street Gardens.
I've heard of a 'Pork Pie' hat but I'm not sure what these hats have to do with freshly smoked pork roll or sausages. Perhaps it's a strange Bavarian custom that you can only eat pork in the months with an 'R' in it if you wear a hat.

It suits the woman taking notes in the background. Gives her an air of authority and the look of a boy scout I think.
